I took quite a few photos while I was moving around the countryside observing voters at voting stations. Here are the full size images of the pictures I took in Banias. Notice that the people are very happy to be voting. People brought their children to learn about being a voter.
Also, I was surprised at how comfortably the soldiers and civilians mingled. It was very natural. These are the native sons, members of the community. There were some sad looking young men positioned along the road into and the road out of town with rifles. Security, I imagine. But the rest were hanging out in the street among the civilians.
